Well guys and gals,
2008 is almost over. That's ok... it's been a pretty tough year for a lot of us. The economy is in the crapper, nest egg's are gone, and most importantly (I know it's been a big concern for you all)... my contest performance sucked. I only won 1 major this year. Finished 6th in the World Champs... most would be happy with that... yeah... well... not me. That's the spot I deserved. I need to shoot a few million more landings before going back if I want to win. Those Europeans get to fly 2-3 F3J comps a month... tough to compete with. But... I know I can take 'em... I underestimated them.
2009 will bring a lot of positives in my personal life. I start a new job right after the first of the year.... I'll be getting my pilot's license current again. It's just not right me not flying.... Looks like the Stalker will FINALLY go into production.... Airtronics new 10 channel is only months away...
I plan on being much more accessible this year. I'll try to make the Nats this year. Team selects will be the number 1 priority. And I'll be at Visalia for sure. Hopefully I can take the company plane... ;-)

Daryl,
ReplyDeleteYou wrote: "Team selects will be the number 1 priority" Mmm... are you referring F3B Team selects...
See you
No, I don't have the energy to compete at B right now, mostly due to where I live. I'm an 8 hour drive from any F3B activity.
ReplyDeleteI'll be focused on J and TD this year.
Btw - don't get me wrong. I'd love to fly F3B again on the world level. I think I could still finish top 5 without too much work on my part. but I'm just not a top 5 kinda guy.. ;-) I'm still competitive here in the states. If something should happen to land me back in So Cal, I'll definitely pick it back up. First time I could possibly go back would be 2011... we'll see. I've got a year to think about it.
